As concerns regarding the spread of the novel coronavirus grow, we wanted to update you on what Gainesville First is doing to ensure our campus is clean and safe for you and your family.
As a community of faith, focused on building bridges to Jesus Christ, we are being intentional on making decisions that reflect Jesus’ mandate to love our neighbors. Here are the steps we are taking to prevent the spread of germs:
For the time being, greet each other with smiles and waves. Try not to touch hands.
Staff, volunteers, and attenders are being asked to follow hand-washing procedures.
Hand sanitizer is located throughout our building.
Custodial staff clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
Also, if you’ve been exposed to the coronavirus, the flu, or have recently traveled to a CDC Level 2 or 3 country (China, Iran, Italy, South Korea, Hong Kong, or Japan), we're asking you to take two Sundays off. If you or your family members are experiencing or have recently experienced symptoms associated with the flu or the common cold (fever, persistent cough, headache, chills, or unexplained rash), we ask that you take two Sundays off as well.
At this time pastors, Stephen Ministers and visitation volunteers continue to call on our sick and homebound members as standard health protocols allow. We are also available for conversation and prayer via phone and email.
In addition, a task force is being formed to ensure our future responses as a church will be swift and appropriate if circumstances deem them necessary.
Thanks ahead of time for your cooperation. Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or pastoral care concerns.
