Foster Care & Support

At any given time there are between 175 and 200 Hall County children in foster care, but there are only enough local foster homes to place a handful of them. The rest are placed in far off counties or even in hotels. Children rescued from abusive or neglectful situations need a safe place to stay while their future is determined.

Your home could be that safe, loving place for children who are hurting and vulnerable, either through becoming a foster parents or providing respite for foster parents. Is God calling you to transform the life of a child through the love of Jesus? Fostering exposes children to spirituality, healthy loving families, and to the love of God.

God has adopted you as His child and heir; here is a chance to give someone else the same opportunity.

Foster Care Closet

Gainesville First believes involvement in the local foster care and adoption systems is one way we are to follow the Biblical mandate to care for vulnerable children and to fight injustice wherever it exists, in Jesus’ name. For this reason, we are working to support and build up the foster community across Hall County. The Foster Care Closet is a great resource to serve the immediate needs of children placed in foster care homes.

Foster Parent & Respite Care Training

Gainesville First proudly partners with the United Methodist Children's Home to offer numerous training events throughout the year. At these events, adults interested in both fostering children in need, or providing support to foster parents and children, can get information and learn exactly how to help.
