The Rev. Dr. Dee Shelnutt, retired elder of the NGA Conference, will preach the Lakeside morning service during August. His father Dumas was senior pastor here from 1962-1966.  His wife Kandy joined GFUMC in 2018 after they moved to Gainesville.

Rev. Dr. Dee Shelnutt is a retired United Methodist pastor living in Gainesville, Ga.  He is married to the former Kandy Jackson of Gainesville, and they have three married children and five grandchildren. His lifelong passion has been in Biblical hospitality. He enjoys anything that has to do with Lake Lanier, swimming, boating, and fishing. He loves reading, traveling, writing, humor, cheeseburgers, good barbeque, and spending time with friends and family.
