through Advent

Now we all know this has been an unusual year and will, most likely be an unusual Christmas for us. God is faithful and He is with us. So what better circumstances for us, Jesus followers, to raise our expectations for His Coming this year! To raise our hopes higher, to experience a deeper and more lasting peace, to feel the thrill of joy as our hearts are warmed, and to love more deeply than ever before.

For those who perhaps this just sounds like happy talk. . .I invite you to lift your eyes to heaven, open your hearts and allow the love of God the Father to fill you, a love so profound that He sent His Son for us. I invite you to hold fast to the Spirit of the Living God who is offering comfort and grace. As you are able, give yourself and all you are feeling to our Lord and allow Him to lead you on an Advent adventure like no other.

So grab you favorite warm beverage and curl up with the blessed Advent Devotion book as we experience the Coming of our Savior. Hear the words of the people of GFUMC describing how they experience the hope, peace, joy and love this season offers us.
